We share the finishes and alloys we recommend for Corfu&#8217;s climate.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Corfu&#8217;s sea air carries chloride that attacks unprotected steel quickly, especially on exposed railings, gates and pergolas within sight of the water.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For outdoor structural work we recommend hot-dip galvanizing, followed by a polyester powder coat where colour matters. The duplex system lasts far longer than either finish alone.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where weight and appearance matter more than strength, marine-grade aluminium or 316 stainless steel is the better investment \u2014 both hold up well with only routine rinsing.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Salt air is tough on steel and aluminium.
